Written at a time when venues were closing all over Melbourne, because of the gentrification of the inner city, resulting in planning legislation making it impossible for existing venues to operate when, new apartment buildings were built close-by. It was that syndrome where people moved into the inner city wanting access to it's life and culture, then participating in closing it down.
